There are many people who make an amazing contribution to the life of 10Radio and none the more so than Barry Somers. It was therefore easy for the Board of Directors to unanimously decide that they wanted to give a token of their appreciation for all that Barry has given over many years. Barry is pictured here having just recieved a card, restaurant voucher and a big 10Radio thank you […]
Barry Somers and Julie Elkins went along to Wellington Coop today on behalf of 10Radio. We expressed our ongoing thanks to Helen Blackman and Janine Stedman (Coop Member Pioneers) who work for the Coop Community fund. With funds donated by the Coop, we have been able to support Primary School children to be trained to broadcast their own radio shows.
Enormous thanks to 10Radio presenter Pete Watts, Nick Harvey (In the Mix) and Ben Elkins who through strength and ingenuity managed to replace the old wheelchair ramp. They gave up a long morning and have done a fantastic job. Thanks again for this great work which will keep us all safe when accessing the studio.
Yes, the Co-op has selected 10Radio to be one of the local community causes that they are supporting this year. In particular, they are helping us to raise funds towards the second round of our school's project whereby we are taking broadcasting equipment and expertise into some of our local primary schools to give some of the children experience in putting together their own radio show. What this means is […]
It was great to see 20 members and friends of 10Radio gather for a slap up Christmas Mealat the Anchor Inn on Firday 1st December. The food was good, the company fabulous and watching Barry Somers performing charades was unforgettable. And as if that wasn't enough, the Town Crier called in to start off proceedings. Thanks to Julie Elkins for organising it all. A great start to the festive celebrations.
This year’s AGM was very well attended, so much so that it was intimate gathering at the “In the Mix” activity room. but with a very positive atmosphere. We received reports from all the Board of Directors subgroups reflecting the huge amount of work that has taken place on behalf of 10Radio over the past year by a significant number of people. We were sad to have to say a […]

Many of you will know that our beloved Outside Broadcast lorry, ALICE, is showing signs of her older age. This means we have to consider her future and that how we manage outside broadcasts and support local events in the future. A small working group has been convened to consider the options and has concluded that we will need to start thinking about replacing the vehicle during the course of […]
