10Radio’s very own ‘Melodic Rock Merchant’ Chris was born and raised in East London and moved to the South West back in 2009 to be with his partner Julie who was a major factor in him getting his own rock show on 10Radio… the story goes that when the engineer called to service the boiler he remarked about the extraordinary number of LPs that were in the house. Julie explained that they were ‘but a small part’ of Chris’ collection of over 24,000 LPs and that all he really wanted to do was get his own radio show! The engineer advised Julie that he just happened to know that 10Radio were looking for new presenters….. the rest, as they say, is history. Chris, who comes from a musical family (his late Italian mother was a professional opera singer) presented the very first edition of his ‘Raised ON Rock!’ show on 10Radio in June 2018… Previously, during the early 1980’s Chris had been a presenter on several Pirate Rock stations in and around East London and Essex and had also presented the weekly Top 40 show on a local hospital radio station.
10Radio is a community radio station serving the 10 parishes in West Somerset which incorporate Wiveliscombe, Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Brompton Ralph, Chipstable, Clatworthy, Fitzhead, Huish Champflower, Milverton, Stawley and Wellington and the surrounding area.
