We are sad to announce that Anton Matthews, former technical director and 1oRadio station manager has died while attending a family wedding in Spain.

Anton’s contribution to 10radio has been immeasurable and he always approached the many technical challenges that were thrown at him with huge calm and sympathy.

Already many tributes have been sent

“As well as being a total star for 10Radio’s tech he was a true gentleman with immense charm. A very lovely man,”

“He was incredible in the amount of work and dedication he put into the station, and had such an amazing background in music. He really will be missed”.

“Anton was part of the fabric of 10Radio from our pioneer days and he will be missed”.

“He was integral to the development of the station and, on a personal note, I am especially sorry that I heard only a tiny part of his life story”.

“Absolutely tragic news.
A true legend and such a gentleman and devout family man”.

“He showed impeccable attention to detail in all things technical. Added to that, he was hugely generous with his time, always ready with good advice and helped to keep us up and running as a Radio station during those ‘sticky’ moments”.

“He was a valued member of the 10 Radio family. His help with the tech side was second to none and he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him”.

He will most certainly will be missed. We owe a huge debt to him

No details of arrangements are known at the moment but our deepest sympathy go to Linda, his wife, Sam, their son and the whole family.
