DJ Tpelvis, A Little Bit of What You Fancy – I grew up in a house with a quite varied selection of music, predominately influenced by my mother and her brother. Some of their favourites were Shirley Bassey, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Cleo Lane, Ike and Tina Turner, Chopin, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Dire Straits, Little Richard, Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones, to name a few.
My next major influencers were school friends who introduced me to David Bowie, Ian Dury, The Clash and latterly the big rock groups of the 70’s such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Deep Purple.
My final true music obsession was with Matt Johnson’s The The, but I would say that my musical taste extends to absolutely any genre (I think). For me, music is an art form and therefore I will always be the best judge of what constitutes great music. PS Never do what you are told!
