Sounds like the 80s
Every week a different 10Radio DJ presents a look at the Top 10s and more from this current week for each decade of the 1980s.
Having experience of DJing at weddings for over 20 years, I have always had an obsession with radio but never had the opportunity to have a go at presenting.
After completing my training in June I started producing, writing and presenting my first shows around another passion of mine, movies and their soundtracks. These shows have visited music from classical to pop tracks which are specifically linked to films across the years. My new guest shows have also given me the great opportunity to meet and make close connections with other presenters from 10 radio.
I love to tryout new concepts and features for my programs where I am constantly seeking feedback from the listeners and main critics being my family.
Starting the breakfast show back in October on a Tuesday morning has also allowed me to be on air with a little more free to play general music. With the listeners constantly in my mind during these shows, I try hard to play music across a number of genres to fit all tases and ages. The odd feature such as my random record and sneaky snippet is also great fun to do.
I particularly love doing the sounds of the 80’s show when it was out to all of the presenters to visit tracks a specific date across the decade. During these shows I not only play great music but dip into TV themes and new bulletins across the years.
