OPEN FARM SUNDAY 7TH June

9        “Tales from the Kitchen”  Volunteer Sue Lincoln joins the Show to talk about why she loves being involved with the Kitchen and what she most enjoys about her role.

9.30  Wonky Horn Farm in Brompton Ralph is one of the most vibrant farms around and today, Dan and Emma Holmes talk about their love of the farm and their way of life and how important it is for us to be aware of the hard work that goes into running farms to produce the food we all eat.

10    “The Transition Town Show”   This month, ecologist Hannah Montag focuses on the Bio Blitz on Fox’s Field and talks to Anita Roy.  There will also be news about the National Emergency Briefing, this film will be coming to Wiveliscombe in July.  Wellington’s Green Corridor and Welly2Wivey also feature in a programme packed with news and events.

10.40        Open Farm Sunday is celebrating its 20th year on Sunday 7th June.  A survey of more than 2,000 people found that 93% believe it is important for the UK to maintain a strong level of food production capacity. Findings highlight the importance of helping people see, first-hand, what sustainable farming looks like beyond the supermarket shelf.  Today 10Radio speaks to Annabel Shackleton, Open Farm Sunday Manager at LEAF to hear more about this lovely scheme for the whole family to enjoy

Andrew, aka "The Rockin Revd", is a retired priest living in Wellington who has been involved with 10Radio since its beginnings. Currently, he hosts the Home Service, a weekly programme bringing Christian worship & local churches to people's front rooms and also has his own Breakfast show on a saturday morning. He also co-presents 10Radio's Community Show with Pauline Homeshaw and is the current chair of 10Radio.
